Bio
Rebecca is a London & Berlin-based writer who graduated from the National Film and TV School with an MA in Screenwriting in 2018. Born in Berlin to a Welsh-Australian father and an English mother, she studied screenwriting at the renowned German Film and TV Academy before moving to the UK in 2015. Her graduation film “Rooftop Refugee,” co-written with writer-director Alexandra Brodski (Somewhere Boy, Rivals, Lion), screened at numerous festivals, including Edinburgh International Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Underwire and picked up an award at the Bundesfestival Junger Film. Since graduating from the DFFB & the NFTS, she has worked in the writers’ room on the English-language SciFi series “Children of Mars” and as a dialogue writer on the hotly debated Instagram series “Ich bin Sophie Scholl.” She also co-wrote the fourth season of the Emmy-nominated series “Charité” with Tanja Bubbel, which premiered in April 2024 and was broadcast on ARD and ARTE. She has just finished working with Swiss director Jela Hasler, on her debut feature film, produced by Langfilm, slated for shoot in 2025. She is currently developing a 6-part series with creator and head writer Petra Volpe and a feature film with DCM and Soleen Yusef based on Melanie Raabe's book “The Art of Disappearing.” Rebecca is a member of BAFTA Connect 2022 - 2025 and an alumna of the ZFF Academy 2023.
In 2008, shortly before graduating from high school, Rebecca published her bestselling novel about a young woman growing up amidst Berlin’s booming nightclub culture. She has since published two more novels. Her writing has appeared in various magazines and literary anthologies.
